What's New?

Each year, Canadian Parents for French – Newfoundland and Labrador invites students from Grade 4, 5 and 6 in the province to write a short story in French as part of the Heather Huxter Memorial Story Writing Contest.

Over 100 stories were submitted this year.  A winner is selected in each grade and the school with the most entries also wins a prize.  A Provincial Winner is also selected from the Francophone category, across the grades.

In 2016, the winners are:

  • Grade 4 :  Emma Barrett, École C. C. Loughlin School
  • Grade 5 ex-æquo: Heather Flight, École C. C. Loughlin School; Rebecca Pye; École C. C. Loughlin School and Ava Walker, Paradise Elementary School
  • Grade 6 ex-æquo: Anna Blackwook, École C. C. Loughlin School; Emberley Johnson, Paradise Elementary School; and Piper Murphy, École C. C. Loughlin School
