Chapters and Teams

Some CPF Chapters have been serving their communities for more than 40 years!  CPF Chapter volunteers are key to our success. Without their efforts and advocacy, FSL programs would never have been established and sustained across the country. They are the unsung heroes in the story of a bilingual Canada.

You and your co-volunteers can lead and coordinate an agreed-upon CPF brand activity or event to benefit youth learning French in your community.

Chapters & Teams provide:

  • local programming (e.g. fun French movie nights) to enrich French as a second language (FSL) learning in schools;
  • offer information and resources to parents wanting to support their children’s FSL journey; and
  • advocate for increased and improved FSL opportunities for students at the school district level and with school administration.

WHY START A CHAPTER OR TEAM?

As a member of CPF means you will be taking an active part in the educational and personal growth of our nation’s youth while contributing to the vitality of Canada’s linguistic duality.

Join us as we continue to:

  • Advocate for increased and improved FSL opportunities for students at the school district level and with school administration.
  • Help provide expanded learning opportunities at your school.
  • Help other parents needing resources and information to support their child’s FSL learning.
  • Encourage students to continue their FSL journey by providing unique learning opportunities and access to special CPF programs such as tutoring.
  • For every CPF member you sign up, a portion is allocated to your team or chapter.

HOW DO WE SUPPORT YOU?

  • Your CPF Newfoundland & Labrador Team contact will support you with all required resources to help meet your objectives.
  • Rebate fees on members’ dues as well as other financial assistance from grants, project funds, etc.
  • Support for activities through our experienced staff members, our network of volunteers and professional contacts, the branch website, our fact sheets, and resource library.
  • Gain credibility by belonging to a respected national/provincial/territorial organization.
  • Sponsorship of their representatives to attend conferences and learning sessions; on-site training as available.
  • Bulk copies of CPF National and Branch Publications and other resources for use in program promotion.

We need YOU!

As a non-profit organization, we can’t do what we do without your support.
