Our Teachers’ Corner is dedicated to Canadian Parents for French activities that are available for French second-language teachers (Core French and Immersion) to share with their class! Some events are virtual while others are in person.

It is said that one of our biggest fears is public speaking. And what’s the best way to get over our fears and become more resilient and confident? By facing them head-on!
Our longstanding public-speaking Concours d’art oratoire provincial finals will be held in person.
Open to youth who are learning French in school. It is a great way to celebrate our participants’ many hours of hard work and official language bilingualism in Canada!
New Registration Date pushed to Friday April 12th, 2024. Registration only requires submission of the registration form. Students do not need to have their speeches completed by this date.
Competing via teleconference. Students living outside of the St. John’s Metro area can still compete in the contest if traveling is a barrier for their attendance. Upon request, CPF-NL can set up Google Meet, or Zoom Links on Saturday, May 4th. Students will have to be ready to present their speeches LIVE for the Judges and their fellow Students at MUN.
Canadian Parents for French, Newfoundland and Labrador offers cultural grants up to $1000 to teachers and schools for French language activities.
What projects qualify?
To qualify for a French cultural grant, an event must promote one of the following:
Applications will be reviewed and processed as soon as possible. Please allow time before your event/activity to receive approval. Please complete the outline of your budget for our records. The cultural grant can be applied from September to June of each school year. Multiple requests will be approved depending upon funds available.
